...sad...
In reply to: Country music legend Johnny Cash died early today of complications from diabetes at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, hospital spokeswoman Nicole Bates said. He was 71. Cash was sent home from the hospital Monday after a week's stay for a stomach condition, according to his official Web site. Bates said he was sent home to "rest and recover." http://i.cnn.net/...p.cash.guitar.ap.jpg

Johnny was a really controversial character in his day and was banned from the radio on occasion:
In reply to: I shot a man in Reno... just to watch him die. Not a big deal now, but nearly fifty years ago it sure was. Johnny could sing about the bad guy as well as the good. Since then Johnny has gone on to sing Gospel, record Leonard Cohen and collaborate with Nick Cave and Trent Reznor to name just a few. Not many old time country singers can boast that.

...MY OWN PERSONAL JESUS...
In reply to: My daddy left home when I was three And he didn't leave much to ma and me Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze. Now, I don't blame him cause he run and hid But the meanest thing that he ever did Was before he left, he went and named me ``Sue.'lonesome' Well, he must o' thought that is was quite a joke And it got a lot of laughs from a' lots of folk, It seems I had to fight my whole life through. Some gal would giggle and I'd get red And some guy'd laugh and I'd bust his head, I tell ya, life ain't easy for a boy named ``Sue.''

To a man I never got the chance to meet... Rest in Peace Johnny…and thanks for everything…~Robert *tears* (I’ve lived with that man’s music all my life. My daddy used to sing some of his songs to me to help me go to sleep when I was a little boy. And you can still hear me belting out his tunes as I’m driving along on a road trip. He will be missed.)
