Whenever I go to here famous climbers talk they are always giving quotes from other famous adventures. I was hoping you guys could give me a list of great/classic outdoor adventure books.

wooooohoooo. Thanks guys! I am off to the library. I think that first one is going to be the one about the smoke jumpers. Man I would love to do that but I just don't think I could throw myself from a plane.

that's actually my goal..i'm going to school to be a paramedic, then i'm taking forestry and fire classes also. working as a smokejumper would be awesome. i might try the hot shots first and then move up. i'm not sure though.

Push, That is great!! I just finished a paramedic class last may. It is a really interesting field. Good luck with class, there are some areas that can be hard but stick with it.

I don't read too much non-fiction stuff, I'm a more fiction kind of guy. The only one that I have read is a bood called 'The Godforsaken Sea' by Derek Lundy. It's an okay book about an adventurous sailing race around Antartica, the race rules are one man per boat, and not stopping (which is infact the challenge of the whole thing). It's very well writen, can get boaring at some points, but great for anyone who enjoys sailing adventures and action.
