i am rewriting the question...has anyone seen any black climbers in their area? i think they would be excellent climbers. they need to get into the sport!

OOOOOOH, black climbers. Nope. Never seen one. There was this dude Mike Freeman (I think) at the Gunks, but that is the only black guy (or girl) I have ever seen or heard about who climbs.

The Life section of USA Today, date 14 Sept., had a good article in it about a black climber aiming to be the first to do the seven summits... don't remember name.
