For those of you who enjoy Classic Literature check out the Gutenberg site. They are making books with expired copyrights available for down load and in Kindle Format too.

Happy Reading

There archive is actually pretty good.

Reading classic lit on an electronic format seems kind of in poor taste though.

For those who travel a lot and read on a kindle, nook, or tablet it seems fine to me.

With that said, regardless of the book, magazine, or newspaper, I prefer to hold a paper version in my hands for sure.

No way! That's like saying listening to Glenn Miller on an MP3 player is in bad taste. You don't need a gramophone to rock out and shake it down to "Don't sit under the apple tree".

"I only read paper" is running the risk of becoming the new "I only listen to vinyl". While digital lacks some of the character (both of books and music recordings) of the earlier version, it doesn't effect the quality of the writer/artist.

I was recently given a kindle for no reason (except the person was awesome and felt like being generous) and while I was kinda not sure how they would be before I am a massive fan now.

I got a Kindle as well, through a bank promotion, and I have to say it's been pretty useful for getting free books, including classics and cookbooks, with almost zero effort. I don't even have to go to the library. I can see why some people are so against them . . .

But there is one big thing the Kindle fails on: when I lie down in bed to read, I can't lie on my side or the orientation on the darn thing will skew so I can't read it at all. Unsure

And along those lines, though there might not be much difference in weight, the Kindle is more awkward to hold in one hand and turn pages than a paperback book.

wait wat? Did you get the kindle fire (the tablet one) or something? The orientation on mine definitely doesn't switch.

As for holding it, I don't really any more. I set it down on things. It feels weird because usually you gotta hold a book to stop it closing, but I got really used to the kindle.
