In reply to: While both Mitchell and Morgan said the hope is that something like smoking nutmeg won't become a widespread problem, Morgan said the goal is to always be "five steps ahead, always. "I'm the administrator for prevention in the state and I don't know about nutmeg," she said. Brilliant. An article about kids smoking nutmeg appears on the front page of the local paper, with the hope that it's effects won't become well known and it's use become widespread.

The front page of the newspaper: Actually a pretty good hiding spot to keep something from teenagers.

What kind of heads are y'all. This is the first you hear of nutmeg? About 1/2 of a nutmeg will get you light headded, more than that and you risk, well, death. But please niggahs, the reason why pot and alcohol are so popular is that they are so consistent with their highs and with minimal side effects (at least when compared to things like say datura (http://www.amazon.com/...291416012&sr=8-2) Really, high, that is the bset u cna doos? Fis yrs kybrd is mling in front of you, lays off the nutmeg. Or take mushrooms - the good stuff. and my favorite - drink the pee! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urophagia Tis the season http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/3136.html

In reply to: The Koryak people of Siberia are reported to have used the psychoactive Amanita muscaria mushroom, commonly known as fly agaric, as a ceremonial entheogen. The active alkaloids are unchanged as they pass through the human body, allowing the urine to retain the intoxicating effects of the mushroom: those who drank the urine of those using the mushroom would experience the psychoactive effects, themselves. Tribesmen who could not afford the mushrooms drank the urine of those who could; tribesmen drank their own urine in order to prolong the experience; and tribesmen on trips carried their own urine with them. They sometimes concentrated their urine by partially freezing it and ingesting the unfrozen liquid. R. Gordon Wasson has theorized that the mythological soma of the Vedic religion was also Amanita muscaria. And the best thing is that fly ageric is one of the most common mushrooms images that people use:

I'm just wondering how they figured that out. "Hey that's not fair, since you ate the mushrooms and I didn't get any, the least you can do is give me a cup of piss." <-- Origin of the saying "Getting pissed"

Some other classics: Eat this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Pedro_cactus
(sold to tourists as a pretty cactus - caution side effects are vomiting.) view this in a dark tunnel
I've got a few more great examples of what we do as a species to get high. I'll post them later.

Ha, I almost included a link from that site. (I couldn't find a good video / image of the green goo that is blown up one's nose in the amazon.) But not just psychotropics - how about a nice glass of chicha?
