I met Professor Higgs once. Well, I didn't actually meet him. I stodd 3 feet from him for a couple seconds not saying anything, wondering how to introduce myself. Then he finished putting on his jacket and left. I was so pissed at myself.

Most people don't care and it's likely none of this technology will happen in our lives, But this discovery will change Human existence. This is one of the biggest leaps forward for mankind. Amazing that our insignificant simple carbon base lives will be capable of understanding matter creation and Multi dimensions. The technology that will come from this is unimaginable. I feel Humans don’t deserve it. We are a horrible war like monsters with primal brains. We should not spread like a viruses or a plague off our planet. We can’t contribute anything positive to the universe at this point. Ex of the Discovery: http://vimeo.com/41038445

Already being discussed on this site: http://www.rockclimbing.com/...post=2590810#2590810 They also didn't "prove" it... The data tends to confirm that a particle of the energy predicted has been found. More testing leads to more data, and better confirmation.
