So the multi-state Mega millions lottery is tonight, $250 million bucks. Assuming one lucky winner took the whole thing that would be somewhere around $103-114 million cash, after federal and state taxes, depending on your state. Assuming you blow a chunk on charities and whatever right off the top, say 20% and you invest somewhere around $80 million. Say you could get a 5% yearly return on that, that's $4 mil a year in interest, $333,333 a month, nearly $77,000 a week, and $11,000 a day in interest. Assuming you never touched the principal, what would you do with over $300,000 a month?

I think that I would have to buy a nice, reliable, feul-efficent car and save the rest. I would continue to work and only touch the money if I really needed it. It would make a great retirement chunk. And I guess if I had any left over when I died, I might give it to my kids if I ever have any. Maybe. Or I could just be buried with it.

i'm a regular lottoery ticket buyer.......one of my vices....... a few bucks a week. There's not much i'd want .......make sure the kids can have the education they desire, a toyota tacoma truck, and the ability to travel to all the places i want to go. I come from a large family----4 brothers and 2 sisters. i would love to share my winnings with them. i have close friends that are struggling and i would help them out too. i lost a niece to cancer 5 years ago and i would set up a scholarship in her name, and give a shitload of cash to cancer research and the children's wish foundation.

Bear, making $11,000 a DAY without touching the $80 MILLION in principal and you think you'ld need to save it for retirement?? Hell girl. BLOW the $11,000 a day and you've STILL got an 80 million dollar retirement fund.

I joked with Darkside a while back but I'd love to get 2 0r 3 really kickass custome buses/motorhomes. One for my family and one or two for 8 or 10 really kickass and patient climbers. Then we do a summer long, all expense paid climbing tour. I'll guarantee 3 days a week totally to yourself and buy all the gear, in exchange they guide for me and the kids.

well, right now my excuse to the wife for not having kids is financial, so i guess i'd be getting down to some buisiness. i think i'd also buy a little house in Estes and i would then have to purchase one of these and reverse engineer it into a street car. http://tinypic.com/dq3yph.jpg

I'd buy a nice house, a nice car and then go on climbing trips all over the place.

In reply to: I would continue to work... Bullshit. I'd buy a Grumman Albatross float plane, get my multi-engine pilot license, fly charter around the Carribean during the winter, Alaska during the summer, and spend some time traveling. http://www.rapp.org/...rumman_albatross.jpg All this after I take care of my family... college fund for my nephews, and pay off the house for my parents. Then I'd drink myself into a long, slow, painful death from liver disease, and bequeath whatever is left to charity.
