Good on ya for giving him a safe home. I hope he costs you less this year than my Max, who is in his second year of Sports Management at UMass.

Puppy! Oooo, what a cutie! That's it, I'm getting a dog. I'll just tell the wife I 'found' her / him under our porch.

I love him! I have two Border Collies. They are a LOT of work but if you keep them happy they are amazing dogs.

That certainly is a very cute dog. Border collies are my faves! Need LOTS of room for energy expenditure though. Ours is a border collie mix.

Wow, what great looking pups, everyone! Cerb is also a BCx, we believe either crossed with Lab or Catahoula. Even as a cross, he acts more like a BC than any of our fosters so far: energy out the wazoo and smart enough to construct a thermonuclear device in his crate. He's 15 months old so he's adding adolescent juvenile delinquent to the mix....

I think my dog is part collie... not sure though. We found him in a dumpster with his brothers and sisters at 5 weeks old. He's agressive as phuck though, not sure if that's the first 5 weeks of life or the breed... funny thing though, of my 4 dogs, he's bitten the most strangers, but he's the only one to not snap at the kiddo.

Sounds like a BC. It's been said that they're the closest dog breed to the wolf, and that accounts for a lot of their inate herding ability. I also remember that they're considered one of the more agressive and snippy breeds. These are both reasons for our rescue work. People see "Babe", the National Sheepdog Trials, etc and want one of "them smartypants dogs". Little do they know.... http://www.azbordercollierescue.com/ http://www.azbordercollierescue.com/bordercollies.asp

Sounds like he never learned through puphood it's place in the dominance chain. Usually a mom dog will nip-check any unruly pups and keep them in line. I guess that means you'll have to start biting the pup to correct it.

He ain't a pup no more... he's gotta be 8 or 9 by now. We've just taken to warning visitors to keep their distance from him, and he's never so much as growled at the kiddo.

Our dog Jasper got into a new bag of Valentines milk chocolate M&Ms and ate the entire thing yesterday. Woke up this morning to chocolate smelling diarrhea all over the living room. Bastard.
