I have been waiting soooo long to vent on this. I think is was an idiotic idea. The Bush Administration trying to save face before the world by bombing the s--- out of innocents. Yeah send troops in and fight the Taliban, but don't bomb helpless people from 40000 feet with B52 bombers they cant even see. If you fight someone you fight him civil. You fight and airforce with an airforce. You don't attack groundforces like cowards from 40000 feet. And then you go and bomb the innocent civilians who have lived and worked their hands to the bone for years only to have their small house and belongings blown to s--- because one shithead american pilot can't aim. True Story: A 65 year old Afghani looked worked his hands to the bone for all his life. He is doing well now because he own 10 sheep and the house het built himself by hand. Here comes a B52 that he can't even see and as he stand looking over his proberty the bambs drop killing all his sheep, his parents, his wife, his four children....and blows his home and the small amount of personal belongings he has TO SHIT! Cowards... I dont hate americans, but the US government has always tried to justify their idiotic decisions by shooting the crap out of innocents. Sorry is I offended anyone, but this is the truth and that is how I see it. Roby if you read this, dont take it personal. You are still one of my dearest friends. It is just getting out of hand and the self rightious US government dont care. breathe stone R C

so we should sit back and wait for more terrorist attacks? that's a good idea. its a lose lose situation, we get attacked no matter what we do. its what we get for supporting militant regimes in third world countries. bold, bin laden means next to nothing in the grand scheme of old dubya's war on terror. HEY ... Well i do agrea with rocmonkey ... But there is one thing i really have doubts about .... CIA and others didnt know about this attack to USA ? If not how come they tracked them back to each second they lived ? If yes ... Why they didnt stop them ? Another thing They really dun know where bin ladan is ? Then how come they have photos of him and his movements ? If they can take photots from him they can JUST assassin him and finish everything ? Or This is another PLAN of them to distroy Afghanestan and it's people, so they can have a complete control on Middle east for its PETROL & GAS ... ? Who knows ! If u think u will have doubts like i have ! Anyways if you talk about this there are lots of things and documents to talk about & here i don't think is the right place for it.

Nothing makes me angrier than when I read or hear someone say that we are cowards because we are bombing, and that occasionally innocent people are hurt. That is exactly what bin Laden and terrorists like him everywhere count on when they, the true cowards, do something like the 9-11 attack on us. They expect us to worry what others will think of us if we respond in kind to their blatent aggression against OUR civilians. Now we are not bombing their civilians on purpose. Our goal with air strikes is to soften up the ground forces, disable air defense systems and communications, and to make it safer for OUR ground troops. In a war (and make no mistake, this is a war) things get broken and people get hurt. We would just be inviting further aggression against us by not responding in a decisive, violent way against these attacks. The world has come to view us as a soft, spineless country who could be attacked without fear of repercussions because that is what 8 years of Clinton has made us out to be. Real peace isn't just the absence of war, it's the absence of aggression as well. Unless you are a fan of one world government and the absolute removal of diversity then this is simply an impossibility. There will always be aggression. The answer then is to have good intelligence, and be willing to answer attacks against us with such violence that no one would think of attacking us again. My opinion (and it's the right one!!)

Really, fight an air force with an air force? Even terms? So should we start hijacking their planes and ramming them into buildings? No. War is not meant to be fair. "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." (John Stewart Mill) We did not choose to begin this war. We will choose to end it. How dare you call the men cowards who do their duty to uphold the honor and integrity of their nation. You are a fool to think that attacking ground forces with air resources is "not fair, or cowardly." How many sorties have you flown against an armored division? How many S.A.M. batteries have you avoided in the process? And when were you a prisoner of war because you were shot down by those ground forces with such a disadvantage? You are ignorant of the doctrine and principles of war, my friend. You have no place degrading the honor and memory of those men. C4C A.R. Williams, USAF

And another thing, Roc... Are you quite upset and feeling awful for that man in Afghanistan? I feel bad for him too. You know who else I feel bad for? The THOUSANDS of American citizens whose lives ended abruptly and without warning on September 11, 2001. The Taliban? They were warned. They had a chance to save the lives of their soldiers and of any civilians who might be hurt. They chose not too. They had a choice. We did not. It's that simple. AW

I agree with talon. How dare you call the US military cowards? At this moment, American troops are on the ground, fighting the Taliban and Al Quada. Why should the US fight fair? US civilians were flown into other civilians so Bin Laden could claim a victory for his "war" against the West. The US is now fighting to stop this mad man from killing more innocent people and stopping the cruel conditions in Afghanistan. Maybe I am mistaken, but it seemed to me that a whole lot of people in Afghanistan looked really happy after the Taliban were driven out of Kabul: watching movies, shaving their beards, and ,for women, showing their faces in the open once again. The US has not targets civilians like Bin Laden did. I do feel sorry for the civilians that lost lives in Afghanistan but at the same time 3500 Americans died, including firefighters and policemen who were just trying to help others. And to Blackjack, much of the info on Bin Laden has been gathered from tracing phone calls and communication and the photos are six months to a year old. The photos shown on television are simply displaying connections to Bin Laden through other people. The US does not know exactly where Bin Laden is located. The film of Bin Laden is from the Qatar television network that broadcasts Bin Laden's speeches and they will not tell the US where those films were taped. The US is not fighting to protect our fuel economy. How niave an idea is that? Did you read that idea somewhere on the internet? I don't know about you personally, but if I had just lost 3500 civilians of my country to a coward like Bin Laden, I would go after him and my concern would not be on the oil prices. I would want to kill the bastard just because he attacked innocent people. So on that note: GO USA.

I'm not even going to bother with the issue of right or wrong here, because there is no such thing. I think that bombing is unstrategic. These assaults are making martyrs of America's "enemies." When there's a bombing, all that's seen on the news is "innocents in Afghanastan killed in bombing raid." Innocent people are being killed in these incidents and it strengthens the cause of America's true targets in the eyes of the world bit by bit. These assaults are pathetically planned and seem to be grossly inneffective. I think that someone needs to read up on their Machiavelli.

JAYDOC Thank God YOU dont run an army. Go soften the ground forces with 40000 foot airstrikes...you go boy, kill the innocents to justify your need for power and domination. I never said AMERICANS were cowards...I said ANYBODY who drops bombs on innocent people from 40000 feet are cowards... ...and if the US Army boot fits, wear it! breathe stone R C

That's the way war works. Why get all your ground troops mowed down by sending them in on foot right away when you can soften up the opositon by bombing them first. That would be stupid. I fully support military action. If the states sat back and did nothing it would show the rest of those terrorist f@#k's that they can get away with it. I say kill all that support terrorism.

yes well everyone also has to think why did they go for the taliban in the first place I mean hand of the Osama Bin Laden and we'll spear you like they had any control of the guy that was just an escuse for them to be able to attack by demanding things the Taliban couldn't give. And now the Israeliās a reason to attack the palistinen goverment because they have terririst's in there contry so the goverment of that company are to blame. Yes we should fight against terrorism but we shouldn't just go bombing the s--- out of countrys.
