very sad news. i climbed with charley about 10 years ago during an rc.com gathering in colorado. what a nice, genuine, kind of guy. a good person. we kept in touch over the years. he hasn't been around rc.com for a while, i always enjoyed his presence in the the regular morning coffee threads.

bill forrester will be missed.

The last time I went climbing, it was with Bill. He inspired me to quit smoking. I was looking forward to taking my oldest climbing for the first time with him up at the Mills this summer. He was 66. 30 years my elder. We always had great talks around the campfire over a beer or some burnt bacon. I loved climbing trips with him, because neither of us cared to rush out to the crag till we had coffee and breakfast. I always think of him when I burn bacon, and always will.

Sad. Frown

I only met him once, but it wasn't much more than in passing. Wished I had gotten to chat with him more, but we were heading in different directions at the crag.

Also very sorry to hear this. I mostly knew Bill from here online but we had a lot of great laughs.

I got to meet him and his wife once while they were traveling, took him climbing at our local quarry spot. His wife had amazing cookies! LOL

RIP Charley.

With great sorrow I'll let you all know that ClimbingAnne's daughter Ashley also passed away last month after a tough battle with ostiosarcoma, the same evil disease that took her father (Anne's husband) many years ago.

She was a lovely young lady (14) and shed so much sunshine on all that were ever around her.

Anne, Ashley (and Andrew, Ashleys's brother) and Bill were good buddies, sad times.

ya'll take care and live in the moment. you never know how many you have left.

cheers!

Sorry to hear about all this loss; Charley was the only one whom I'd met. Sending positive thought to Anne and Abi, too.

Yes, shortly after posting I realized i had forgotten to mention Abi's husband Mike, who's life was taken in a motorcycle accident.

Rough time for these folks who were all good friends.

I'm so sorry to hear about all three of these. Much love to Ann and Abi.

Charley was always such a nice guy. Wish I'd had the opportunity to meet him.
