TLDR: Got a lot of static rope and looking to set up a zipline in the woods/mountains. Please continue on to the questions below. :) LONG VERSION: My uncle used to do electrical work on wind turbines and had industrial spools of static rope. He gave me about 300 feet of the stuff. it's about 15mm in diameter. So, since it's not really good for climbing, being that it's not dynamic rope, I thought it might be fun to go out on some hikes and find places to set up a zipline for some weekend fun. QUESTIONS 1) anyone know if 15mm static rope will work for ziplining? 2) what's the best way to anchor the rope to things that aren't trees (rock/mountain side) 3) a general question...anyone familiar with setting up a temporary zipline like this? 4) lastly...any other exciting things i can do with this much rope?

Sounds like a lot of risk that isn't worth it. Ziplines put a fuckload of force on the anchors (many times greater then your weight) if you don't know how to attach a rope to "rock/mountain side" then it is probably prudent to leave the zipline idea alone. You could get really fucked up really easily. There is tons of fun shit you could do with the rope, but none that you could really do safely without known what you were doing on the rigging/anchoring side of things.
