Nice.. would get dirty but white hoods would probably look nice with the frame and red tape.

Yeah that is rather inexpensive.
How much do you have invested in tools and such for assembly?
Did you use any pro-deal type discounts when buying parts?

I used to manage a bike shop so I have the tools and know-how to handle just about anything. I have maybe $200 in tools. You'd be surprised at how few specialized tools you really need to work on bikes.
The wheels, bar, stem, saddle, & seatpost were leftovers from my old bike. Almost everything else was from eBay. The only things I paid retail for were the brakes and bottom bracket.

Ah!
So $1,300 for the frame, front fork, gears, chain, and derailer? Still sounds like you did a good job keeping the cost down. Way to go!

Chain is also not in Big-small and that is certainly not a white garage door ;) tire labels aren't lined up with valve stems either.. tsk tsk
he does get nice credit for having the stem slammed and flipped and a shit ton of seatpost

Is that Rival? How do you like the doubletap? I've only played with it but it seemed half awesome half awkward as hell. I thought it was pretty rad that you could just grab the shifter lever and hold it while you're in the drops.

It's Rival.
I have ridden Shimano STI for a very long time so Doubletap is taking a while to get use to. I think I'm going to like it, though. Upshifts are telepathic but I'm still fumbling with downshifting.

this is how i felt when i test rode a bike with it on there.. upshifts are so fucking nice but downshifting seems to be a further throw than shimano's big lever.
