Consider that if you are diagnosed by a free clinic as having any serious problem before your insurance kicks in, it could possibly be deemed a pre-existing condition. That would cause problems getting your insurance to pay for it. If you gone five months, you can probably wait a couple more weeks. I hope all turns out well, Sarah. Good luck.

Update:
I went and had a couple of tests done. They were inconclusive and they didn't know if it was just a bad read or something like that, so they retested me and they still came up inconclusive. The doctor did notice there were some unusual things going on. I have another appointment coming up at the end of June to see if anything has changed. I'm still kind of freaked because it really hasn't gotten any better. I'll keep you updated though. Thanks again.

Update #2. I ended up in the ER on Saturday due to me not being able to keep anything down which led to me throwing up blood which led to the visit. (big circle I know) After an X-ray, about a pint of blood, a badly placed IV, and an ultra sound, the ER doctor figured out what the problem was. I've had a gall bladder problem for over two years and it finally culminated on Saturday. The thing is literally full of stones and has to come out. I will be having surgery on it near the end of the month hopefully. I asked the doctor if that could be the reason for the irregularity of my period and he said yes. The stupid thing is so full that I'm not passing any bile out of it which is throwing my body's homeostasis off. Hopefully after I have the stupid thing taken out, and I get regulated again, I'll be back to normal. I honestly never thought that it could affect my period, but at least its better than having cancer or something like that.

i'm glad they found out what was wrong bear. I've known other women with gall bladder problems that did affec their period. They had their gall bladder removed and things went back to normal. They had a non invasive gall bladder removal: small incision and microscopic surgery.

Thanks guys. As for the stupid insurance, it doesn't kick in until the 20th, which is a few days after my surgery. I talked to the lady at the agency and she said that she would look into and see if it will be able to cover it by that time or not. I am already planning on paying for the emergency ER visit and the meds that I am going to have to take for the surgery, so what's another $7,000 on top of that? *rolls eyes*

I hope your surgery gets covered by insurance.
on another note, about 5 years ago i had terrible pain in the gut and the doctor was convinced it was my gall bladder, turned out to be an ulcer.........go figure!!!
