Just another day in the Ditch, nawmean? All dressed up and no where to go but UP!
Angus will be her wingman...
Off we go!
Watch her crack N up, its a pleasure to see!
She throws these jams all on her own, not one word from me
A fist jam to make a climbing Pop proud...
(Quietly and with a smile = 'Hey Pop, check out this fist jam!" That's GOLD KAITY, GOLD!)
What better Venue? Starting her Great Days at 12... even I envy her!
It was bloody hot. We intended to be first on route but my slothfulness rewarded us with a couple of hours of way above 90 temps on a south facing wall of white granite. Kaity was feeling the heat and stress after 400 feet of 5th class climbing
Angus told her to 'toughen up Buttercup!'
And some doofus was frothing at the mouth about the views and spewing endless tales about The Tribe (I treated her to a story about the Wall of Early Morning Light as we watched the early morning light light up the Nose... 'a rescue is not needed, not wanted and will be refused!")
Yes, Great Days....
We were all kids once! Sorry I missed the Facelift! I thought we'd have time but there was a 6 PM have to be home deadline for Kaity, we had to boogey before we could find anyone. HOT! +100 in Yosemite Valley. DMT

Nice! I remember my daughter's first multipitch. I think she was 9. She's now 13 and doesn't really climb anymore, though. If Kaity really takes to it, you'll have a rope gun before you know it. Thanks for sharing. Josh

Nice pics Dingus. Kaity is lucky to have a father who's eager shares his passion for climbing. Even if it doesn't stick and never goes beyond a few days on the wall with her dad, thats the part she's gonna remember.
