Hi all

I am a sport climber interested in climbing at Verdon, France in May 2011 for at least a month. My onsight abilities are 6c+, redpoint up to 7b+.
I am looking to find some information about the place:
How easy is it to find Sport climbing partners?
Is it recommened to arrive alone there and then partner up? or is it too challenging?
Could anyone provide more accurate information about the nature of the rock and the bolting there?
What is the most recommended season to climb at the Verdon?
Please feel free to contact me via Facebook Elad Maimoni or my Gmail: mr.maimon@gmail.com

Cheers,
Elad Maimoni

It would certainly be easier to have a partner beforehand. You should advertise on http://www.camptocamp.org/, European equivalent of rockclimbing.com.
In Verdon, with the exposure + the rating you have to be ready to deal with a "unique" type of "sports" climbing. Bolts are usually far apart but your level should allow you to climb most of the great classics on the Gorges.
As for the season, May should be good. Rock is limestone. Quite warm but nothing like the temperature you might find here. Bring a fleece in case it gets windy (mistral).
