I am heading to Fountainbleau Forest for the first time. Looking for some Beta. Where can I rent a crash pad? Do I need one in the Bleau? Which part has the best access without a rental car because I will be coming from Paris by train.

I live near Fontainebleau and i have never heard that it was possible to rent a crash pad, but i may be wrong. Anyway you sure need one. (do you often boulder without one???).
If You want to go by train, 20 min from the sation of "fontainebleau-Avon", there is "le roche du calvaire", and 30 min far there is le mont Ussy and le mont Hercule. But these are ot really major sites. You can also bring a bike in the train and then ride a bit. I think that by bike you can go to "le rocher Saint Germain" in about 30-40 minutes... Maybe less. This site is more interesting.
If you go to the sation of "bois le roi", then not so far is "le rocher canon".
If you want more information you should sheck the website: www.bleau.info, which is very usefull.
(i hope my english is not too bad...)

Hi,
I expect this is a bit late, sorry. I have only just joined this forum.

We have recently opened a gite complex in Font and we are now also renting out bouldering mats.

If you would like more info, have a look at www.maisonbleu.com

the best way to talk to us at the moment is via e-mail (having issues with our phone company here Unsure)

Wow. Your place looks very nice. I'll certainly consider it for my next trip to Bleau.

I just checked out bleau.info and found the Mont Ussy area. This seems to be the best area to walk to from the train station, what I am wondering though is how long and how much does it cost for a train ride from Paris (honeymoon!)?

Hi,
As Bleau.info suggests, the Mont Ussy area is about 20 mins walk from the Fontainbleau-Avon train station.

I know that a single ticket is 6.08€ but a day return might be cheaper than 2 singles.

For catching the train from Paris, it goes from the Gare de Lyon station at ground level and will be shown as the Montereau train.
Looking at the train timetable the trains take approx just under an hour.
