Any recommendations for good October climbing in the Frankenjura? I am hoping to find someone to climb with for 3-4 days later this month...

Depends on what you like, steep technical or steeper thuggy. As the leaves and the humidity drop then the more technical stuff gets better and dries quicker. And of course depends on what grade! I´ll be up there (from Munich) for a long weekend sometime in the next few weeks, my regular climbing partner there has a bad attack of the `new baby syndrome´ so doesn´t get out so much these days!

My wife has a friend up (from Munich) the weekend of the 14th of October, if you are interested in a 3rd... I am not climbing anything too hard (up to 7- or 7 ), I tend to like more technical and less thuggy.

That weekend should be o.k. I´ve nothing planned otherwise. I´ll mail a few of the other guys who creep around on the forums and see who´s around then, they´re a motley collections of weak punters like me who like beer!

Beer is good (and stuff!) Sounds good, do you usually stay there or drive back to Munich? I was looking at camping in the area maybe, any recommendations? I have a place to stay in Starnberg, but that is a bit of a drive. I might look at driving down (I live near Cologne) Friday morning...

I stay over, it´s easier with the beer! Alone I sleep at my climbing partners but it´s a bit new-baby-ish there so I camp at the moment. I use Kormershof or Moritz though that´s because in summer I often have my kids with me and they like campfires. Moritz has the advantage it is behind a pub! There´s also camping behind the pub in Morchreuth but I haven´t stayed there for a long time. Probably Kormershof is the best bet at the moment though, its at Allersdorf near Goßweinstein. http://www.kormershof.de/ I can make it Friday morning no problem, ca 10 am is feasible!

Kormershof looks good to me. It looks like about a 4.5 hour drive for me, dropping off my son at kindergarten would put me there about 11:30 am. I'll send you a PM with mz contact info
