Hi,
I am considering El Chorro as my next climbing destination for mid September to mid October. How is it there that time of year (in terms of weather) ?
Plus, is it possible to leave my camping gear behind this time (don't want to carry my tent, cooking stuff, etc') ?

I'm not 100% sure but I've heard el chorro (it's near malaga, right?) being strictly a winter place.
September-october would still be too hot.
If you want to stay in spain better options for that period could be Siurana or Rodellar.
Other quite obvious sport climbing destinations for mid-seasons would be Sardinia, Kalymnos, gorges du Tarn...even if as far as my personal preference goes, september-october means Verdon  ...but that place is only worth if you really like the specific style (vertical technical climbing), you don't mind hanging from a belay 150 meters off the ground, and you are comfortable with the occasional runout.

Its still a bit hot bro. There are places to stay however so you really would not have to carry your tent.Good thing is the train goes right through El Chorro. I think you would have a good time even if it is a little warm.Dark

El Chorro during that time would be a bit hot. The climbing season is generally the winter through late spring (everyone goes on holiday come May). But climbing during the autumn is perfectly reasonable. If you climb in the gorge then you'll be shaded out anyways. Otherwise climb in the early morning and evening.
As for camping, there is a hostel and a climbers refugio (http://www.el-chorro.com/). So you won't need camping gear.
