Hey, Im currently in Morocco, but the weather has turned a bit cold for rock, and too much snow for mountains, was thinking of coming up to Spain in the second week of Feb. and trying to climb in el Chorro or somewhere around there. Havent been in the area before, but have rope, gear and have been climbing for about 7 years (from Vancouver, Canada). If anyone has any suggestions, beta, or offers of partnering up or accomodation, Im happy to belay and buy beer/wash dishes/walk the dog. Francais ca va mais ne habla pas espagnole. Thank you/merci/gracias Sean mocco88@hotmail.com

Heya, Okay, well, El Chorro is a good place to show up partnerless and poor, so no worries. First, you can take a train straight into town of El Chorro. From there, there is a refugio (very cheap pension-type accomodation) that is loud (like everything in Spain) and full of climbers. There is also a decent campsite, but again... LOUD. Loud people, dogs, and an electric generator in the valley that runs all night and echos. Take earplugs! You won't have troubles finding a partner there, I'm sure. There is also a very, very small climbing shop in town with the standard guidebook for the area, which I think runs around 20€ but most of the profit goes into bolting/upkeep of routes, so it's worth it. Here's a decent site for more of the same info: http://www.rockfax.com/...o/accommodation.html
