Hello all I am starting to research/organize a possible trip to europe to do some amazing climbing. I would be starting off in france in a couple of months and am looking at hitting up Ceuse, buoux and verdon to start off the trip. I will be 19 years old and am an avid and competent climber and will be traveling solo. from the research i have done it seems like it would be a good idea to have a car but hitchhiking might be possible? It also sounds like you won't be a favorite if you show up at the crag on your own, how would you avoid that? are there organizations you can join? or do you just show up anyway and hope for the best? This will be a major trip for me I am canadian but have european citizenship and will be staying indefinitely and in in europe traveling around climbing, working and meeting new people. if any one has any advice or would like to climb i am hoping to be leaving early February and then who knows. Thanks Luke

I just got to France myself(I'm still in the fucking CDG!) and will be here for two months, work related. I will have weekends off and plan on hitting up Font whenever the weather is good. Let me know when and where you will be and maybe we can arrange something.

You probably won't go near the South of France, but if you do just beware very high on pickpocketing. Pyrenees that is. I've an friend in the UK who ice climbs in Chamonix alot, If you want me to hook you up with he and his friend too just let me know. These lonely planet books are very popular and good knowledge: http://books.google.ca/...snum=5&ct=result
