I'm flying into Lyon at the end of July. Does anyone know if there is there a way to get to Ceuse without renting a car?

I understand that I can take a train to Gap. From Gap is it easy to find a ride to les guerins camp site?

Thanks in advance

yes I think it will be easy enough, gap and the campsite ain't too far away really...

I suggest you to have a close look to the maps and figure out the different routes that can take you there.

Maybe the best idea will be to first find a ride to the "aérodrome tallard", a little sport airport wich is located on the road to sigoyer. A lot of cars passing by, so I suppose you'll find a ride to this point pretty easily.
Once you are there, there's a road to "sigoyer-massif de céuse" (close to the entrance of the aérodrome, just on the opposite side of the road).
It's a very long walk from there (10 kms!!!) but it's the route most climbers follow, so I think someone will pick you up before the end of the day :D

maybe myself I'll be driving to céuse in the (very) end of july, in that case I could pick you up : just let everybody know when you arrive in gap.
I think I'll be in cèuse for the first 3 weeks of august if everything goes ok...

good luck, and if you plan to stay long enough, see ya there!

I've did a summer at Ceuse without a car, and it wasn't so bad. The hitch from Gap can be rough if there aren't any climbers headed in your direction. Took me 6 hours once.

Once you're actually at Gerard's, you should be able to bum rides down to town and back with other climbers. It's only when you're coming into town on the train that it's tough. Unfortunately, that's also when you have ALL your stuff with you...
