I think it would be nice to be able to view a map that has all the climbing/bouldering areas marked out, so one can quickly and easily find a place to climb/boulder near a specific location. This would be much easier than possibly browsing dozens of places in a state's location and checking the nearest town/city, and checking where that town/city is in relation to where the person is or will be (especially helpful if you will be visiting a place where you don't know the geography).

You mean like this? http://www.rockclimbing.com/..._search.cgi?form=geo (accessible by clicking geolocation search on Routes main landing page) Remember that this search could only find areas for which the longitude and latitude values have been entered. Cheers, DDT

The geo-search is a great feature, most definitely, but rather than generating a list of matching areas, it would be awesome if you could zoom into the map and see the areas actually indicated on it.

Is this idea possible at all? Any way of creating a map with climbing areas at the region level of the DB? If you're not familiar with the climbing in a particular state or country it would be nice to see their location in that region as seen on a map and in relation to one another. As it is right now, a huge long list of climbing areas (for some states) doesn't mean much.
