It's just aging you because in your profile, you designate only the year that you were born, therefore on january 1st, ____ your age increases one more year. Yes, it's not accurate to the day, but at least to the year. If the admins will put in a system where you can enter the exate date of birth, then it'd be correct. Also, you could even have a little countdown in your profile, or a little bar at the bottom of the forums saying who's birthdays on the site were today. Cool eh?
