Description
Double wing, stainless steel bolt hanger has a 8mm rolled radius bearing surface that is very friendly to both carabiners and ropes. Particularly good for placements in gyms, on steep routes and roofs that have potential for direct outward loading and great for use on projects that may require multiple falls or retreats. The lightweight CLIP-SAFE's strong design provides extra resistance to carabiners accidentally unclipping themselves due to rope drag whiplash or cross loads that may be encountered during a fall. Use in pairs for rappel anchors to assure smooth and easy rope retrieval and minimal risk of rope damage.

Mountain Tools' "Clip-Safe" hanger is the ideal low profile crux-hanger ready for lowering off or paired and camouflaged up to make for a low profile anchor system. Compare them to the Fixe ring anchor and Metolius Rap anchor. These being .40 cents more than Fixe Rings. But you won't get the same rope pinching effect you get with the Fixe rings in certain positions, and moreover you'll save on the total weight. If I'm not mistaken they have a larger radius where the rope rests compared to the Metolius rap anchor and are comparatively cheaper too by .65 cents. However, all the systems will need either to be pulled entirely or cut to replace the wear points.
Updated: have now place these and the lower off was without issue. Compare the cost savings of a 3/8" screwgate plus metolius hanger to these bad boys. In either case the weight savings tips any even balance.
