Snow Study Kit

Kit includes a digital thermometer, slope meter, aluminum crystal card and 6x magnifying loupe, all packaged in a carrying case. Proper use of snow study tools allows the user to gather valuable information on the stability of the snowpack and make informed travel decisions. Calibratable thermometer lets you check the temperature gradient of the snowpack temperature is digitally displayed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. Slope meter calculates the angle of the slope, helping you navigate through potential avalanche terrain. Aluminum crystal card and 6x magnifying loupe allow you to study snow crystal shape and size to gain information about snow stability. Multiple slope indexes on the crystal card help you calculate the slope steepness on a topographic map also includes a 10cm ruler. The Backcountry Access Snow Study kit comes in a thermoplastic case for securely stowing individual tools in a convenient place.
