First of all, did you know that the Shrike is our lightest technical ice tool? Betcha didn’t. And did you know that the Shrike provides unbelievable performance at a non-wallet-gouging price we can all afford? It does. This is an all-around winter tool that you can take to the Tetons or to Ouray, ’cause classic versatility is the Shrike’s middle name. For ultimate durability, we’ve paired an investment-cast 17-4 steel head (that can take abuse like no other) with the wicked Cobra Pick (that bites into ice like its namesake) to produce an axe that’s unbeatable in terms of performance and value. Available in both straight- and bent-shaft versions.

-Classic design is strong, light and versatile.
-Weight is head-centered for precision swings
-Comes equipped with a Cobra Pick

These tools are great. I've used them for about 3 seasons now, I have the bent shaft, which allow for some clearance, and still plunge in snowpack well. I wouldn't use them for hard WI, just like I wouldn't use leashless tools for glacier travel.

I also have a tendency to break things, and have yet to be bale to break these tools, or the picks.

they also sink amazingly well considering the lightness of the tool, great tool for the weak (me) and ultralight crazy

Fine tool. Not high end. Use 'em and you're gonna bash your knuckles some.

Fine tool, worked great in RMNP. I've got the bent shaft version, and that makes then a little harder to feel secure on a boot-axe belay, but beyond that I've really liked them.

Great tool. Got some of the X-15s (older version), and they are durable as all hell, awesome for some alpine action, and make a good third tool, easy to clip onto harness.

Used them, didn't like them, wouldn't suggest buying them.
