Description

The smaller sizes have the comfortably familiar 2.3:1 width to thickness ratio that allows good, stable placements in tiny cracks. As the size increases, the ratio changes to 1.2:1, allowing sideways placements in small holes and pin scars. Sizes 5-8 have a deep groove machined into their wide face to increase their stability in tenuous placements. Cables are swaged for strength.--Trango

They are strong small wedges. The small sizes actually seem better than the larger ones which I would rate lower.

good small nuts. its worth popping a drop of epoxy on the larger ones so they don't slide around. they feature burly wires, so the smallest ones do not really replace tiny RPs- the wire is so thick that it will not slot through tiny cracks beneath a placement. in practise, ive only been annoyed by this a couple times, and all those other times i appreciate having a thick cable that will hold up to a little more tweaking and a little more falling. for free climbing, these are solid. for dicey aid, maybe these still have a place, but you'll want some thinner wired nuts too.

I love these little suckers. They are way cheap, well made, very strong and for their size make me feel pretty secure even though they are tiiiiny. Many people complain about the nut sliding around, but only one piece out of the set I own does this... only the larger ones appear capable of doing this I might add. This actually has an advantage over other brassies b/c it allows you to put them over bolts w/o hangers. If you dont have a set of these and are in the market for small pro get some!!

These things work pretty well, but the thing they really have going for them is the price. I generally climb with a set of HBs and a set of these on my rack. This is the first piece I'll grab if I need to leave bail gear, due to the price of getting a replacement. They do have a spot on my rack, though, and I'm fairly picky. I'll third the sliding around on the wires. Not a really big deal though.
