Strong and cheap 5 out of 5 stars

I bought these D's only for setting up top rope to the anchors, which they work well at. The reason I give it 5/5 is because of the price and its Kn strength. At $9 at REI, they are cheap and they are the strongest aluminum carbiner at 31Kn.

Only con, it sucks as a belay biner because of its small gate opening.

Omega's answer to the common hardwear store quicklink. Heavy, narrow, with a sharp sleeve on the gate and a microscopic gate opening, it's probably acceptable if all you are going to do is set up top ropes but useless for anything more. Look at the BD Positron or Trango Superfly instead.

The workhorse locker on my rack. Cheap, strong, and light.

Strong and cheap. These were my first biners, I have 4 that I still use when I toprop. Two strikes against them - weight and a very narrow opening. The BD Quicksilver2 screwgate is a few cents more and significantly lighter with an amazing opening for a biner that small.

The only good thing about this product is that it is a cheap locker. Do not buy the "anodized" Omega products--it will wear away after just one use, leaving you with a normal aluminum biner. These locking Ds are a big disappointment.
