Highlander rocks! 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: surfcat, 2009-09-14

I love this pad, good catch, big target, no too heavy, durable.
Misty Mountain is Quality! Forkliftdaddy, what did they charge to put new foam in?

Super construction, super company 4 out of 5 stars

Got my Highlander several years ago. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but I used it off and on for days and/or weekends. This year the foam was pretty much shot, especially at the fold, but the pad shell was still in great shape. So I contacted Misty to purchase some replacement foam, letting me pick it up in Boone -- no shipping charges. Good pad with great construction.

Has a definite focus on durability for its weight. I have taken at least a couple twenty footers with the pad over some pointy boulders and been impressed with both of our end condition. I have very minimal experience with pads and use it mostly for highball/solos of the shorter routes up on the prairie. Biggest weak spot I can ascertain is stock foam possibly having short lifespan or possibility for deterioration due to opening versus sealed designs. Hauls thirty pounds well enough and makes for bueno siesta.

Great pad, very durable and has held up well. I give it a 4 because when choosing whether to land on it or my buddy's metolius pad, I aim for the metolius. I just prefer the way it feels, but the Highlander still does fine.

I bought this as a second pad to complement my Metolius XXL. I actually bought it "practically new" for $120US and it is totally worth it. Small and light compared to the Metolius but the construction is bomber and I see it becoming my main pad when I go out in larger groups.
