Boulders 2 out of 5 stars

I love LS boots/shoes and own 6 pairs, but these are poor shoes. The old boulders were fantastic, they made these on curved shaped last instead of the old symmetrical last and removed the cushion in them to make them more technical and added longer wearing rubber. Last shape no complaints. Lack of cushion in sole is ridiculous. Approach shoes need some cushion for carrying in the pack these have none and are hard on feet. The rubber is HARD and NOT STICKY. A little moisture or smooth rock and you skate!

I don't like these shoes. First, the laces are terrible-one of them started breaking after the 3rd time of use. 2ndly, the fit leaves more to be desired, a LOT more. They move around on my feet as I'm walking no matter how snugly I lace them. I feel more secure in my ratty old Tevas!

Gotta agree with Adam. The rubber feels super hard and doesn't seem to stick very well. When I walked on rocks the shoes were making clicking sounds like I was wearing dress shoes. I slipped several times just walking on flat rock. The only pro I can come up with is that they edge pretty well (mainly because they're so incredibly stiff).

What was Sportiva thinking?! The old style was great, with excellent rubber. This new style sucks! The rubber is so hard it feel like I'm walking on a skating rink when I'm on rock. They blew out after a month of in Nepal (they weren't even my primaryt pair of shoes). I'll never buy them again. I love Sportiva though, and all my boots and climbing shoes are sportiva, but they missed the mark with these.

Its a decent approach shoe, but rather narrow and stiff. I just about melted the soles off sitting in front of the campfire at JTree, so perhaps that's why its so hard to walk in them. Oddly, I prefer my Exum Ridges with the same Frixion sole over this shoe for approaches.
