spent two days climbing ice in these boots, they were great. They handled WI4 with NO problem. Feet were never cold, they held crampons nicely and were very confortable and easy to walk in. I love these boots.

I give them a five because they do great at what the claim to be made for. Got them on sale for $100 and have no regrets. Hiked and skied in them in Alaska for a month on glaciers and were good and comfy. Done some vertical ice in them and while I'm sure they don't perform as well as a leather, did fine for me.

Great boots for winter hiking. I don't know if I would use them for vertical ice though. My feet were only cold in them once when the inner boot was wet. The lining is made of open-cell foam so when it gets soaked it tends to be a little chilly. The linings seem to wick away sweat so when I am hiking it is nice and warm. Very comfortable.
