Great Shoe 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: liljay, 2009-06-08

Having a wide foot this shoe fits exceptionally well, the additional velcro strap provides additional support keeping the heal intact. The dual density Mad rubber on the sole wears well over time. The aggressive toe and heal work great on small jibs in the gym and as well on rock. Having used the shoes primarily for competing, and deep water soloing, proves they are versatile for every use. The shoe does stretch out about a half size so do watch for that.

This is my first pair of shoes. Fit very well after break in. Wearing whole size down compared to my normal shoe. Rubber is pretty soft, so i recommend it for outdoor use.

I have had these shoes for about a month now and climbed in them on rock roughly 2 days a week, so am not entirely sure how they will wear, but the rubber is sticky so I think they will wear reasonably quickly, but hey so do most shoes that are sticky.

The shoes are pretty soft which make them great for bouldering steep stuff. The rubber teeth on the top make toe hooking so much easier (feels like your cheating) and heal hooking in them is great too, although they are pretty much a slipper so sometimes the heal pops out but no more than any other slipper.

I have climbed slab on them and they worked really well when they were brand new and still tight, however they stretch a bit so I am not as trustworthy on smaller holds.

Overall, I think these shoes will definitely be worth the money if they fit right. The rubber on the toe is not a gimmick, it works.
