About 通天塔 Tower of Babel:

This section consists of several climbs, mostly crack climbs, that ascend the cliff directly opposite the Guoliang Tunnel cliff. Most are multi-pitch; one climb goes all the way up the cliff, and a few others could potentially be extended to the top, where there is a road.
Approach: Near the bottom of the switchbacks leading up to the Guoliang tunnel, there is a wide, clearly visible dirt road that crosses the valley floor. The stream may be difficult to cross directly below the climbs. One can take the road all the way to the end of the valley, where the stream can be more easily crossed, and then double back the base of the cliff on the other side.
Approach Time: 20 to 40 minutes from Guoliang

Access Issues: No red tape. The top of the cliff is a tourist walk; people regularly throw their garbage off, and it is not regularly cleaned, so the base of these climbs is quite dirty and smelly, especially toward the Guoliang end.
