Directions: | (Rrimary description by nova19): From Tel-Aviv, you take the highway to Jerusalem (road #1), on Ben-Shemen Interchange you take the turn to Modiyin (road #443), then after about 10 km (Makkabim Junction) you take the left turn to Shilat, after 10 m take the left turn and then after 10 m take the right turn. Drive straght with the road about 2.1 km and you'll see the sites in the left side of you, enjoy. (Addition by mikki33): The road above is good if you have rented (or company) car... I don't advise to use it with your own car. This is a very bad road. You have to cross the river twice, it even impossible in winter. Instead, it is possible to approach the site from another side. So, the same way to the Makkabim Junction, here turn left and immediately right, continue forward ~1.5-2 km, turn left to the last dirt road about 200 m before always closed gates of Shilat, 300 m and you will see old army tower and the memorial for the DAN workers which lost their lives during different wars. Park near the tower. It is also very nice camping place. The rock is under you on the right hand side. Walk down, turn right after 100-200 m. Have a nice climbing day. |
