| Climbing area in the far north of Kyoto city. Easily accessible by bus from Kyoto. Most routes are not bolted, requiring protection and some require micro nuts/micro cams with pitons still used in places. Guidebooks to this area recommend pitons. |

| Access Issues: | There have been problems in the past with parking and camping near the site, which resulted in all climbing access being suspended. Please be careful not to park in prohibited areas. Both camping and parking are not permitted anywhere near the shrine. Camping on the mountain or in the climbing area are also strictly prohibited. Entry to the shrine and some areas around it is strictly prohibited. Abuse of these local agreements could lead to access being revocated again, so please abide by them. |
