About Medeu:
| Medeu is a ski resort town just outside of Almaty. There are a couple of good climbing areas (50 to 150 feet) along the side of the road, in addition to some extreme uphill hiking. The quoted price of a single room in the ski lodge, summer season, was $ 26.00. |

| Directions: | The rock is directly on the road to Medeu, on the left side. Bus No 6 passes, no 29 goes to about 2 km before. On the right side of the road, there is a bus stop and a big sign %u201CMedeu 4000 m%u201D (not the normal road sign %u201CMedeu 4km%u201D, which is several km down the road). A bit further on, between a tollgate (in Russian: %u201Cschlagbaum%u201D) and a huge road block, you can see the rock on your left. |
