About Batu Cave:
Batu Cave's is a huge limestone outcrop and currently the main region for climbing around Kuala Lumpur, hosting 8 crags and a total of about 170 routes. For further route and crag information please refer to the different crags (areas) of the region Kuala Lumpur. Batu Caves got its name from the famous cave system hosting one of the most important Indian Temples in South East Asia. This place is very popular with tourists (especially Singaporeans). The actual caves are well worth a visit, as long as you don't mind climbing 200 steps! If you like crowds, visit the cave during one of the spectacular Indian Festivals, but be aware that with more than 200´000 pilgrims the area becomes pretty jammed. |
