Nearest town or city: | Kathmandu |
Directions: | From the ring road, pass new bus park on left, go over the bridge to the next chowk. Go right (only option), then through the village, up the hill, bear to the right at top of hill and the follow left at the fork up to Nagarjun Forest. Gate is on the right hand side. You will have to pay the guards to get through the gate (250), and then it is about a 2 kilometer walk to the rocks. They are hard to see from the road, so best to go with someone who has been there on your first try. |

Access Issues: | Women are not allowed to go alone in this forest. So you must have a male guide, or male friend to gain access. They are very strict on this policy, and it is the Army training grounds, so no use arguing. I have seen many women turned away who tried to plead their case to go in alone. It won't work. Sorry ladies... ? |
