About Mt. Wellington:
Mt Wellington looms over inner city Hobart. The doleraite colomns of the Organ Pipes are the most popular crag. These cliffs reach up to 200m high and conatin many excellent trad routes. In more recent years a spatterign of sport routes has emerged on the faces. This place can be cold and wet in winter as it is above 1000m. |

Directions: | Located about 20km from Hobart's CBD. From Franklin Square in the centre of Hobart travel south up Davey Street (which becomes Huon Road) for 9.6km. Just before the township of Fern Tree, a well signposted road (Pillinger Drive) leads sharply to the right and winds up the mountain. Follow this for 4.5km to reach The Springs, a picnic area with plentiful parking. Another 2.7km further on is a small parking bay on the left side. Park here. |
