About Adamsfield:

Adamsfield is one of Tasmania's most important sport climbing crags, and is home to all of Tassie's hardest routes. It has been in development since 1994 and there are now more than 50 routes - with plenty more to come. The climbing is very steep and strenuous, with lots of pockets and jugs and is fully bolt protected. Despite being in the middle of Tasmania's South West the area is seeing quite a lot of activity due to the unique climbing offered.
Nearest town or city: Hobart
Directions: In the South West, about two hours drive from Hobart. From New Norfolk drive to Maydena and then into the South West National Park. 5km past the Scotts Peak Dam turnoff turn right onto Clear Hill Road. 16km down the gravel road there is a large boulder on the right hand side of the road. Park 50m on from this and follow the track up the slippery bank on the right hand side of the road to the first boulder, the High Wire. Follow the blue tapes up the hill to the top of the hill to find Pyramid Rock and the Bear Pit, follow the orange tapes to the Trapeze. See Craglets for more details.
