About Mt. Geryon:

All the literature I’ve read about climbing big walls in Tasmania almost always required an approach of epic proportions. Days spent waking through mud, the only climbing involving climbing the walls of a smelly crammed hut as you wait for the weather to clear. Fortunately, there’s a middle ground. Welcome to Mt. Geryon It’s been said that the number of climbers who have ever climbed in this are is outnumbered buy the number of climbers you can meet on any given weekend at the Arapalies. During a visit to the area in February 2004 I would say that’s most defiantly true. So few people climb in this amazing and easy to access area that during my trip to the area my climbing buddy Simon and I did a first accent on the East Face. Resources for climbing Mt. Geryon are limited mostly to vague route descriptions in out of print guide books. Here you’ll now find the most information you’ll hope to find anywhere. (And from a Canadian no less) Hope you enjoy it.
