Yikes this is a beautiful place to climb. It's always cool, even in the middle of summer as it never sees the sun. The entire wall overhangs and yet there's a garde 14 route up it ! Go figure, such is the magic of Arapiles. Most routes here are in the order of 2 or 3 pitches, however there are some sportier single pitch things, some of which are downright hard. Masada (29) and Slopin' Sleazin' (28/29) are two that fall into the latter category. For the rest of us though, we might happily spend our days wandering up Lamplighter (14), with its beautiful 2nd pitch (and ugly 3rd one), Judgement Day (19), which crosses some pretty unlikely territory before finishing way out right, or The Second Coming (22), which cranks right up the middle of the back wall. Under no circumstances should you be tempted to do Kingdom Come, the obvious splitter crack up the middle. You've been warned. Stars in the guides are for comic value only. |
