Contains some of the best and hardest routes going around at Araps. And if I could steal one chunk of rock to put in my back yard, this would have to be it, although since I only have a courtyard, I'm going to struggle. Punks in the Gym, established by the legendary Wolfgang Gullich in 1985 is still hard, as are the variants of this theme on the same wall. Moving around to the front, and you have a smattering of middle 20-something-grade quality routes, plus the excellent India and Ethiopia at the harder end. Then on the north wall, you have the only truly easy route here Coming on Chris, as well as Wolfgang's other hard Arapilesian route Wisdom Of Body and the excellent fun Nose Job. On the back wall, Spasm in a Chasm is a great sports route - getting lots of attention year round because it stays dry and cool. On top of all of this, there are still projects here, at least 2, maybe 3, but unfortunately you're going to want to be climbing 33 or harder to be able to do them. |
