About Werribee Gorge:

A good day could be spent knocking off all the worth while routes at Werribee Gorge. The majority of the climbing occurs at the Amphitheatre, while there are other areas, climbing is banned everywhere except the Amphitheatre. Climbs range from Grades 10 (SPQR) to Grade 26 (Too f---ed To Pump). More like a small Mt Arapalies, Werribee Gorgeis about 1 hour from Melbourne CBD. Be warned: on a fine Saturday morning, you might have trouble moving through they mass of people. Very popular little crag. Also, wear a helmet. They rock is very loose above.
Nearest town or city: Melbourne
Directions: Drive to Bacchus Marsh. Turn left to Geelong, right at the big roundabout before the railway line. Continue. Turn right before golf course, up steep road to Ballans road. follow for 8 km's to a carpark across railway lines. Follow track across paddocks, up hill, over fence, and down to cliff. please note: Please note: Access has recently changed. The VCC says: "The new landowner has concerns about insurance liability and has also ploughed the entire paddock to sow crops. It is important that anyone wishing to climb should use this new access route.
