About Z-Bend Gorge:

The Z-bend gorge is about 30 minutes from Kalbarri, in Kalbarri National Park. Here there is fantastic climbing on the sandstone walls of the gorge. The gorge itself is very pretty and attracts many tourists each year.

There are both trad and sport routes of all grades, though mostly in the mid-high range. The Promenade contains some of WA's best sport climbs. However bring your rack as there are also some fine trad lines. There are single-pitch climbs and for the more adventurous longer, multi-pitch climbs at the Amphitheatre. The best guidebook to get would be West Australian ROCK as it has photo topos and has been updated more recently, however the guidebook does contain a few inaccuracies so be careful.

Accomodation of all styles is available in Kalbarri. The best time to climb is autumn/winter/spring. Summer can get pretty hot. If it gets too hot, you can always go for a dip in the Murchison river below.

For more info try looking at the CAWA page and the Climbwest page.
