About Mount Frankland:

Mt Frankland is a large granite dome set amongst the pretty karri forest near Walpole. It is up to 160m high in places and is mostly slabby.

There are about 30 routes in total. A lot of the routes are bolted (though some are still run-out), some of the routes require bolt plates. Bring the rack along too, as there are also lots of trad lines. Most of the routes are in the mid-high range, it is not the best place for beginners. It is also not really possible to set up top-ropes, so a leader is required.

Access is very convenient, with camping available at the carpark. There is even a small hut there. It is about 5 minutes walk from the carpark to the dome. There are two guidebooks to the region, South Coast ROCK and West Australian ROCK (both by Climbwest).

For more info see the CAWA page and the Climbwest page.
