Farm Park Crag
About Farm Park Crag:
A nice collection of over 60 routes 8-30 meters high. Few classics, but reasonable (not great) rock quality and easy access make it well worth a visit. Plus, there are a couple of the few multi-pitch routes in the Port Hills here.
Approach: Follow Summit Road towards Godley Head, and park at the Breeze Col. (low saddle directly above Taylor's Mistake, walking track start) Approach 1 (top of Head Wall, between R/L Walls): Cross the fence on the south side of the road, and follow the track up the hill heading east. At the first crest, a small boulder is visible to the left, continue past the boulder and head down the slope toward the gulley before the visible cliff. Approach 2 (R-end of R Wall): Cross fence, and continue down the slope heading east. Shortest approach, but outside of early spring will cover you in barbed seeds! |
