About Dreznica:

This is the highest quality and best-known clinbing area in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Composed of a complex of rock pillars and shields, with excellent quality lime stone (calcium carbonate). Situated in the marvellous Neretva Canyon along the Sarajevo-Mostar highway. Dreznica is 30 km north of Mostar--turn over the Dreznica bridge and take the first right up the hill, and you are at the climbing area! Apart from the unique natural beauty , this magnificent spot is decorated with rare cultural monuments. The most important of these is located in the Mastan climbing sector, on one of the rock colums by the camping area. Here you will find the shield of Duke Mastan, chiseled into the rock in the middle of the 14th century in the ancient Bosnian alphabet ("bosančica"). The nearess to the artifical lake on the Neretva River, and to the canyon of the smaller river Drežanjka, makes this whole area extremly interesting and attractive to all nature-lovers and devotees of outdoor sports. This top-class climbing area is magnificently composed of over 70 routes, all of whose starting points are marked. All routes, like the camping area below, were prepared by the extreme sports club SCORPIO of Zenica.
