About Gouther Crag(OS):

One of the more secluded areas in the Lakes. A northwest facing crag of good sound rock with about 50 routes, 60 to 180 feet long from Diff to E4. Worth a visit.
Nearest town or city: Penrith
Directions: OS 90 GR NY 515 127 390m
10 miles south of Penrith, 3 miles WSW of Shap. From Shap, drive north to Rosgil and take the low road towards Bampton. After a third of a mile, the road turns right, then after another third of a mile, turn left on to a small lane leading up the Swindale Valley. After three miles the crag can be seen up on the left. Cross the river on a footbridge and take the path to the leeft of the stream, then cut across to the crags.
