Great Slab Area
About Great Slab Area:
Some fortuitous quarrying has left what is possibly the finest gritstone slab in the Peak. The GREAT SLAB is home to a great collection of climbs, over thirty years worth of first ascents. Toy Boy is probably the hardest route on the slab, but for the mere mortals among us, Artless is likely the most technical, and Jugged Hare the most serious. Do not underestimate The Great Slab either, it has probably caused more broken bones and bruised internal organs than any other route in England. Routes are listed from left to right. |
